Happy April!

Homework

I have noticed an improvement in students scores on the spelling and math quizzes each week. The extra practice is helping!  Students will have a sheet of spelling activities that need to be completed each night and passed in on Friday. Each Monday, I will send home a new list of spelling words, with the sheet attached. Every Friday, we will have a spelling test. Each child has a unique spelling list that focuses on the principal of the week and the high frequency words they need to work on.

The Pentucket Lake Calendar book has their math fact challenge stapled in from the week before. Students should practice the problems they missed. Every Thursday we will have our Fact Challenge test. Again I am noticing some children are not studying so I will be sending home 3 copies of the fact challenge test they will take on Thursday. They have 4 minutes to complete the test on Thursday. These math sheets should be turned in each Thursday.

The Pentucket Lake Calendar book should come back to school each day in their backpack.

Important Upcoming Dates:

I've been at Pentucket Lake for the last 13 years and a resident of Haverhill for over 22 years. My husband and I are the proud parents of two sons - Jack 22, attending UMass Lowell and Austin 21, serving in the United States Army. They attended Walnut Square, Pentucket Lake, JG Whittier and Haverhill High.  In my spare time I love to read, knit, and crochet.

My mom immigrated to the United States in her early 20's from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago and my dad is second generation from Ireland. I am the first in my family to attend college and am grateful to work doing a job I love.

I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Salem State, Masters in Reading from Endicott College, Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educating Diverse Populations from UMass Lowell,  Special Education (Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8) Graduate Certificate from Merrimack College and a Graduate Certificate from Lesley University in Trauma and Learning. I am also a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid, National Trainer.

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child this year, to help them grow and discover more about the world around them and the possibilities that await!

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  Suzette
